Don't Let the Enemy In

Don't give the enemy a foothold.

1 Peter 5:8 tells us

"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."

When you grumble against your husband to another, you're giving him a way in.

When you hold resentment in your heart against another, you're giving him a way in.

When you think "If this ever happened, I couldn't go on, I couldn't live through it", you're giving him a way in.

Think of the enemy as an earthquake & you are the building. His roar is the quake shaking you looking to see what cracks, if any, form. God doesn't take the earthquakes away. We still have to live through them, but His spirit in us changes HOW we live through the earthquakes. Do we crumble or even just crack in the quake? Or do we hold fast to Gods promises for us.

When your husband doesn't respect you, remember Gods command is to honour him first. God doesn't say 'honour your husband when he deserves it'. God just commands DO IT. And when you do your part, what happens next is between your husband & God. You know you have done what you were asked to do.

Someone tries to offend you? Don't let them. Forgive them for being human, accept they're probably having a bad day & it's not even about you. Pray for them then let it go. The rest is between God & them.

Bad things happen? HOLD FAST! God promises that ALL things work together for the glory of God. No matter the situation He will turn it around for HIS purposes. And from the experience we grow & are able to reach out to others that we would never have been able to.

We are allowed to have feelings, but we mustn't react based on those feelings. Have your moment of feelings, sadness, a little cry. When the moment is over leave it there, get up, grab your Bible & find out what God has to say about the situation.

God showed me a house, a beautiful house with lots of windows that filled the place with natural light. He showed me all the doors & windows were closed, but in the back in a room that was darker than the rest, a window was left open.

The devil never sleeps.

Be vigilant.

Be alert.

What we say & think matters.

Don't let him in.
